Ollie & Co™ - Care & Training Guide
For the Doga Mat™ & Dog Mum Bag™
Your new Ollie & Co accessories are designed to make every café date, brunch run and everyday outing smoother, cleaner, and more stylish for both you and your pup.
To keep everything looking beautiful and long-lasting, here’s your go-to guide for care, cleaning, and helping your dog learn to love their Doga Mat™.
1. Caring for Your Doga Mat™
Everyday Cleaning
To keep your mat fresh between washes:
- Gently wipe down with a damp cloth to remove dirt, dust or light spills.
- For small messes, spot clean using mild soap and water.
- Allow to air dry fully before rolling up or putting away.
Deep Cleaning
Your Doga Mat™ is machine washable — perfect for deeper refreshes.
- Use a cold or cool delicate cycle
- Mild detergent only (no bleach, no fabric softener)
- Air dry flat — do not tumble dry
- Avoid frequent machine washes to preserve the structure and materials.
(Think: occasional deep clean + regular wipe downs = longest life.)
2. Caring for Your Dog Mum Bag
Your Dog Mum Bag™ is made with premium materials that stay beautiful with simple care.
Cleaning Instructions
- Do not machine wash
- Wipe the outer and inner surfaces with a soft damp cloth
- For deeper cleaning, use a small amount of mild soap on a cloth and wipe gently
- Air dry fully before use
- Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive scrubbing, or soaking the bag
Storage Tips
- Store in a cool, dry space
- Keep out of direct sunlight when not in use
- Avoid placing sharp items inside to maintain the bag’s shape
- Roll the Doga Mat™ neatly to keep its edges crisp and ready for outings
3. Introducing Your Dog to the Doga Mat
Bring Your Scent Into It
Try one or more of these:
- Pop the mat into your washing basket for a couple of hours
- Lay it on the couch or in your bedroom where you spend time
- Place it inside your dog’s bed for them to nap on
- Leave it open on the floor during the day so they can explore it freely
This makes the mat feel familiar and comforting before using it in public.
Encourage Your Dog to Sit or Lie on It at Home
- When your dog steps onto the mat on their own, praise and reward
- Ask for simple cues while they stand on the mat such as:
“Sit,” “Drop,” “Stay.” - Keep sessions positive and short — 1–2 minutes at a time
Your goal is for your dog to think:
“This mat = calm, comfy, safe, rewarded.”
Practice “Place Training”
This is teaching your pup that the mat is their spot.
Try:
- Luring your dog onto the mat with a treat
- Marking the moment they stand or sit on the mat (“Yes!” or a click)
- Rewarding them for staying
- Gradually increasing the time they stay on the mat
- Practising in different rooms (kitchen → lounge → front yard)
This helps them generalise the behaviour.
Take It on a Short Outing
Once your dog is comfortable at home, bring the mat:
- To a quiet park
- To your backyard patio or driveway
- To a friend’s house
- Then eventually to a quiet café
Always reward calm behaviour on the mat in new environments.
Level Up to Café Confidence
When you start going to cafés:
- Place the mat down immediately
- Guide your dog onto it calmly
- Bring a chew treat or lick mat to encourage settling
- Keep lead short but relaxed
- Reward any moment of calmness on the mat
With repetition, your dog will learn:
“We’re at a café → I sit on my mat and chill.”
